A striking late 20th-century figurative painting on canvas depicting an intimate gathering of three figures, rendered with a distinctly modern interpretation of classical European painting.

The composition centers on a seated male figure accompanied by two attendants, their arrangement and dramatic poses recalling the theatrical groupings found in Renaissance and Baroque painting. Rather than attempting a traditional academic reproduction, the artist approaches the subject with a freer, distinctly 20th-century hand—using loose brushwork, abbreviated passages and areas of exposed or thinly worked canvas.

Particularly compelling is the contrast between the softly modeled central figure and the richly dressed figure at right, whose voluminous ochre, rust, charcoal and blue garments introduce both movement and considerable visual weight.
