Description
A substantial porcelain cachepot by American ceramicist Julie LoRusso, inspired by classical European garden vessels and neoclassical ornament. The form is accented with applied lion masks, a motif historically associated with strength, guardianship, and architectural decoration.
Hand-built in LoRusso’s Virginia studio, the cachepot is finished in luminous white porcelain. The softly thrown body is balanced by sculptural lion heads and a delicately modeled interior rim adorned with a continuous garland motif, lending both visual richness and refinement to the piece.
Generous in scale yet elegantly proportioned, this cachepot is well suited for larger plants or as a standalone decorative object. A timeless example of contemporary studio pottery rooted in classical precedent and meticulous craftsmanship.
