Claridge’s London Porcelain Catchall by Pillivuyt, France

A wonderfully refined vintage porcelain catchall made for the legendary Claridge’s hotel in London, produced by renowned French porcelain manufacturer Pillivuyt.

The softly squared dish features gently curved sides and an elegant gilt rim, with the historic Claridge’s crest prominently displayed at the centre in rich blue, red and gold. The restrained white porcelain ground gives the piece the unmistakable understated elegance associated with the Mayfair hotel.

The underside bears the green Pillivuyt France porcelain mark, together with “Pillivite London – J. Chomette” and production code B 91 I. Founded in France in 1818, Pillivuyt has a long history of producing high-quality porcelain for hospitality and tableware.

Originally intended for hotel or restaurant service, pieces bearing the Claridge’s crest have become particularly appealing decorative collectibles. This example works beautifully as a catchall for keys or jewellery, on a bar for cocktail accessories, or simply displayed as a piece of London hotel memorabilia.

A sophisticated object combining French porcelain craftsmanship with one of London’s most celebrated hotels.
