A highly desirable mid-century monograph devoted to the life and work of Pablo Picasso, published in 1955 by Harry N. Abrams and edited by Milton S. Fox. This example retains its original dust jacket, featuring a bold graphic composition designed by Picasso expressly for the book in July 1955—an increasingly rare survival and a key factor in the book’s collectibility.

The volume contains an extensive visual survey of Picasso’s oeuvre, with 606 total reproductions, including 38 full-page color plates, color offset spreads, black-and-white halftones, and line drawings. The illustrations trace Picasso’s artistic evolution across painting, sculpture, printmaking, and drawing, offering a comprehensive view of his formal experimentation and thematic range.

Interior highlights include works such as Musician Faun (1952), expressive linocuts, sculptural studies, and anatomical abstractions. The production quality—paper stock, typography, and printing—reflects the high standards of Abrams’ postwar art publications.

With its intact dust jacket and strong overall condition, this book functions equally as a scholarly reference and as a striking graphic object, well suited to display in curated interiors or art libraries.
