Set of Four English Staffordshire Green Cabbage Ware Plates
A wonderfully decorative set of four English Staffordshire cabbage ware plates, each moulded in the form of a richly veined leaf and finished in a vibrant emerald-green glaze.
Each plate is beautifully modelled with an intricate network of raised veins extending across the surface, surrounded by softly undulating, scalloped edges that follow the natural form of a cabbage leaf. The glossy green glaze pools slightly within the recessed detailing, creating wonderful depth and tonal variation while emphasizing the remarkably tactile botanical surface.
The plates retain their original markings to the reverse, including “Genuine Staffordshire” and “Hand Painted,” identifying them as English Staffordshire ware.
Both sculptural and functional, the set is particularly striking displayed together on a wall, dresser or plate rack, while equally suited to a layered table setting. Their saturated colour and organic form give them a distinctly collected quality that works beautifully in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
