Verdigris Grand Tour Style Bust
A striking museum-quality reproduction bust inspired by an ancient classical sculpture from the collection of the British Museum. Depicting a youthful male figure with tightly curled hair and finely articulated features, the work captures the quiet refinement and idealized proportions associated with Greco-Roman portraiture.
The bust is crafted from a composite material with a remarkably convincing aged bronze finish. Layers of blue-green verdigris, oxidized tones and darker patination give the surface the appearance of an excavated ancient bronze, while the detailed modeling of the hair, facial features and beard lends the piece considerable sculptural presence.
Mounted on a simple black rectangular plinth, the bust has the character of a museum or collector’s study piece while remaining considerably lighter and easier to display than a solid bronze sculpture. Its manageable weight makes it particularly versatile for placement on a console, pedestal, bookcase or within a collected interior.
