Description
A sculptural porcelain urn by American ceramicist Julie LoRusso, informed by classical European vessel forms. The piece features a rounded bowl body raised on a turned pedestal foot and is distinguished by opposing scroll handles, elegantly modeled in high relief.
Hand-built in LoRusso’s Virginia studio, the urn is finished in luminous white porcelain, allowing the purity of the form and the graceful curvature of the handles to remain the focus. Subtle throwing lines and hand-shaped details underscore the artisanal nature of the work.
Balanced and architectural in presence, the urn functions equally well as a decorative object or as a vessel for florals. A refined example of contemporary studio pottery grounded in neoclassical tradition.
