Description
A sculptural porcelain vase by American ceramicist Julie LoRusso, rooted in the ornamental vocabulary of classical European design. The vessel takes the form of a footed urn, embellished with applied laurel scroll reliefs encircling the body. The rhythmic scrollwork recalls neoclassical architectural ornament and 18th-century decorative arts.
Hand-built in LoRusso’s Virginia studio, the vase is finished in luminous white porcelain, allowing the depth and modeling of the laurel decoration to remain crisp and legible. Subtle throwing lines and hand-applied details underscore the artisanal nature of the work.
Elegant in proportion and architectural in presence, the piece functions equally well as a sculptural object or as a vessel for florals. A refined example of contemporary studio pottery informed by historic precedent.

Excellent condition. Contemporary hand-crafted work with inherent studio variations.
