Description
A sculptural porcelain bowl by American ceramicist Julie LoRusso, decorated with applied floral reliefs encircling the body. The low, gently flared form is softened by hand-modeled blossoms, referencing classical botanical ornament found in European decorative arts and architectural friezes.
Hand-built in LoRusso’s Virginia studio, the bowl is finished in luminous white porcelain, allowing the floral detailing to read clearly against the subtly thrown surface. The repetition of the floral motif creates a rhythmic, ornamental quality while maintaining a restrained, timeless presence.
Both decorative and functional, the bowl works beautifully as a small planter, catchall, or sculptural accent. A refined example of contemporary studio pottery informed by historic floral design.
