Marble & Bronze Grand Tour Style Urn

A striking late 20th century decorative urn combining richly figured marble with a finely detailed patinated bronze pedestal, inspired by the classical forms of the European Grand Tour tradition.

The generously proportioned marble bowl is distinguished by its dramatic natural veining, ranging from warm ochre and caramel to deep brown and charcoal. Its broad, gently rolled rim and substantial rounded body beautifully showcase the movement and variation inherent to the stone, making each viewing angle slightly different.

The bowl is raised on an architectural bronze support with a dark aged patina. The pedestal is particularly handsome, featuring a fluted, spreading form reminiscent of classical acanthus and column-base ornamentation, finished with a restrained beaded border. A corresponding circular marble plinth completes the composition and gives the piece a substantial, beautifully balanced presence.
